he map below displays a very, very,
VERY partial sample of the houses of the Order in France in 1312. Space and
bandwidth will not allow for a bigger picture with more houses on it (neither
would I be able to construct one). Apparently there were hundreds of Templar
houses and almost as many Hospitaller installations in France those days.
Especially the area from the English Channel to Marseille seems to have been
well bestowed with Templar houses. Data for the map is from Grosser
